Apollo White Cable Railing for a DIY Interior Remodel

“Of all the elements of our major remodel, our Viewrail Cable Railing was one of the smoothest.” (Elda – Homeowner) 

Elda and Tom wanted to modernize the look and feel of their seasonal home in Sea Isle, NJ.

The existing railings on the stairs matched the floors, and the couple wanted to replace the existing balusters with something more contemporary. They were also concerned that they wouldn’t be able to find a good color match. The couple found Viewrail on an internet search. “Right away, we liked the look of the cable railing we saw,” explained Tom. “It reminded us a bit of that cruise ship look.”

Elda and Tom found the planning, design, and delivery was quite straightforward. “We worked with the Tech Staff, and I took photos, marked them up with my Apple pen and added measurements. In a few days, I received carefully rendered drawings, which we reviewed in detail. The staff was excellent, very helpful, and always responded promptly to my questions,” Tom recalled.

“We figured out what kind of posts we needed for each location, placed our order and it arrived at our home in about 2 or 3 weeks. I have a degree in Industrial Engineering,” Tom continued, “and I enjoy doing the DIY projects around the house. We were given an installation binder to follow and the instructions were perfect. In our case, some carpentry work was required prior to installation. Then it was just follow-the-bouncing-ball, including where to start. There was an issue with a post, but I gave them a photo and they made it right.”

Tom continued, explaining that the installation process went quite well. “The cable process was easier with two, so I brought a friend in for most of that portion of the work. All the packages and all the bags were marked as far as what part goes where. As long as you follow the instructions carefully, it goes up without a problem. We watched some of the YouTube videos for specific information on some of the aspects of installation.”

And Tom liked the attention to detail. “The little things Viewrail did were really good. For instance, they included a little container of screw wax. The system they had for tightening the cables was excellent. Overall, it’s a very good value, especially since it’s custom-manufactured.”

Elda is thrilled with the final result. “We absolutely love it. It’s just stunning, we get unbelievable comments from everyone. It changed the whole space of the room. All my friends are in awe of it. I have nothing but accolades for Viewrail,” Elda concluded. “They were right there and helped us out as we went through the process. They were more than helpful all the time.”
